Working with The Bailey Players has been an extraordinary experience for Hampton School District One students and teachers. I always value these opportunities as professional development for teachers as well as opportunities for students to learn about the elements of theatre. Throughout their artist-in-resident programs, the Players teach students and teachers about theatre from auditions to production. Students learn about blocking, delivery of lines, set design, costuming, and audio/visual production. The Players have especially made a concerted effort to make curricular connections between theatre and core academic subjects. In the absence of a theatre teacher at every school, the Baillie Players have made it possible for us to provide a quality theatre learning experience for our students.

Our school has been working with The Baillie Players for several years. They do a terrific job leading my students in putting on a top notch production. Everyone involved enjoys having The Baillie Players in our school.

Buren and Dottie have been our traveling Drama Department for over 18 years! Much talent has been discovered and developed through his program. We even have the distinction of being Gloria's breakout performance place. We love The Baillie Players!

Working with the Martins is always fun. They have a great sense of humor which makes all the work feel more like fun. But, besides knowing how to have a good time, they really are professionals when it comes to theater and working with students of every age. They both have a way of commanding attention and respect from the students. They know how to bring out the best talent from the cast. They encourage them to work hard, but, have fun, as well, which is why so many students return every year to work on the plays with the Baillie Players. There is no way we could put on the productions that we do as a school without the Baillie Players. I am so grateful to be able to give our students the experience of working on quality scripts with real professionals. So many of our students go on to high school and continue to excel in speech and drama. I know that the Baillie Players have a big role in contributing to their success. Thank you Buren, Dottie, Gloria, and Milner for being a part of our school family for so many years (17?). We look forward to many more!
