NOW PLAYING:The Ransom
The Baillie Players will tour a cabaret version of Tim Brosnan's wonderful musical comedy, The Ransom, in 2008. The play is based upon the turn of the century short story written by O. Henry. Set in a small town in the South, the story centers on the character of Pandora, an eleven-year-old girl so feared by the other children in the school that no one will have anything to do with her. Her father, however, is the richest man in town. Two would be kidnappers (From "up North" of course) decide to hold her for ransom. Unfortunately for Bill and Sam, the kidnappers, Pandora turns out to be so mean that they have to pay her daddy to take her back. There are lots of laughs and some great music. You'll enjoy this one ...

This Christmas season, The Martins will tour Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. If you didn't have Scrooge and all the ghosts in during the 2006 or 2007 tour, make sure you contact the company for a booking in 2008. Music, narration and energetically acted scenes - many taken from Tim Brosnan's famous musical Humbug, are all pulled together to produce a theatrical treat for all audiences.
